I left for my village the next day to see my parents and also to inform them that I would be heading to Lagos to search for work , I knew Mama would definitely get some stuffs for me to take along to Lag , I got to my village in Ohaji – egbema Local government of Imo state , I was welcomed by my father , I asked about my mum and I was told she went to the Market, nice one, that means she is gonna cook my favorite Oha soup that evening, she later arrived in about forty minutes later and gave me a long and tight hug , I missed those hugs, after eaten, I broke the news of my imminent departure to them , My father was really proud of me for taking that decision, mama was more concerned about how I would be feeding pending when I get employed, I told her not to worry that I saved some money during my youth service and that I would manage the money until I get a job , I then told her that Mekus said I should come with some foodstuffs , she said she would see to it Immediately .
I left the village on tuesday of the week I was to leave for lag, I had close to a bag of garri with me , about twelve tubers of yam , plantain and palm oil , if there is one thing I love about my village , it is the fact that everybody works hard, there is always abundance of food , I got to owerri and called Amara to come over , she agreed and as usual I fucked her hard, she went to lectures from my house the next morning, wednesday night was for Nneka and she got the dick real hard, I did not call anybody on thursday night as I used the night to park my stuffs , I slept very early that night because I wanted to wake up on time to meet the first bus , I had a neighbor who had a tricycle , he dropped me off at young shall grow park in owerri where I got a bus to lagos , I called Mekus while in the bus telling him to send me his address, I ended the call and almost immediately, a text entered from him, I opened it and it read, 28 SALVATION ROAD, OPEBI , IKEJA . He then called me and told me to stop at Ojota and that I should take a taxi to the place , I agreed and he wished me journey mercy before ending the call. I got to lagos around five pm , I came down at Ojota like I was told and some guys with wheel barrow rushed those of us that came down , one charged me two hundred just to carry my stuffs to where I would get a taxi to opebi, I got a taxi and told him salvation road, opebi Ikeja, he said one thousand five hundred, I didn ’ t argue with him, I got in and we were on our way to SALVATION ROAD.

It was one of those days , lots of messages sent to client but none was responding , it is very unusual for three of us to be broke at the same time, normally, if my clients don’ t respond , Noel ’ s or Femi ’ s would , I don ’ t know why they all chose this time not to respond , I shut down my laptop and went to the kitchen to soak the last garri in the house , as I opened the door , I was surprised to see Noel drinking the garri, I nearly pounced on him Me : guy , hope say no be that last garri wey I wan come drink , you dey drink so ? Noel : omo na him o Me : ah ! Ah ! na you buy the garri, wey you dey drink am ? Noel : oga, when we start to dey chop only wetin we buy for this house Me : I dey talk , you still dey chop , give me the garri jor I dragged the plate of soakies from him and ran to the parlour, he joined me and we emptied the plate together Noel : guy you know say you dey mad Me : wetin I do ? Noel : if say I no carry spoon join you for here , you for don finish this garri abi Me : before nkor , if say I no come meet you for kitchen , you for don finish am , madman like you Noel : but guy , this owu dey very real this days ooo , wetin man go do to survive like this ? Me : omo , the thing self tire, all this clients just dey fuck up , by the way , where is Femi ? Noel : me no know o, e b like say this owu no blow reach him side , he just comot now ….

After checking my mail to see if my clients had responded and saw that none had, I became really mad, I nearly broke my laptop in annoyance but having been in this business for such a long time, I knew this was just a phase that would soon pass , I felt my stomach rumble , so I went to the kitchen to see if I could get something to eat , all I saw was just garri, I decided to go buy sugar and ground nut to soak it, I just bought the ingredients needed for the soakies when I saw this beautiful angel in a beautiful body , there was no way I was gonna let that beautiful angel pass me by, I moved closer to her and soon we got talking , I found out she was new in the area , we exchanged number and I promised to call her later in the day , I came home and rushed to the kitchen because I was starving , I opened the garri bucket and behold, the garri I saw earlier was nowhere to be found , I nearly fainted…….
