EPISODE SEVENTEEN PR2
The night was an emotional one especially for me. Funmi insisted on sleeping where I slept and was on me all over the night even though I couldn’t sleep throughout the night with different thoughts running through my mind.
“She claimed to love me and said she’s sorry but would she have done or say that if I hadn’t come to Lagos.? Would she have being this remorseful and emotional on me if she had not caught Fred going after her cousin? I think it’s better I let her go because I can’t say if I know her anymore. I felt she’s been hiding her true self before now but she couldn’t hide it any longer “.
I laid her off on the mattress and had my bath as early as 4am. I was so eager to leave. I went to the car, dust her and prepare her for the journey ahead. I sat down right in the car waiting for Temmy to be ready. While waiting, I doze off in the car obviously because I did not sleep throughout the night. I was woken up NY Funmi
Funmi: Did you sleep at all?
Me: Not really
Funmi: Why?
Me: I had a lot going through my mind. I’ll sleep when I get home. How was your night?
Funmi: It’s was good. It’s been long I had that kind of sleep
Me: That’s good. Try to be having more of it from now on
Funmi: It’s not possible. I can only have it with you
Me: Hmm, I don’t think so. You’ll have a better one without me

Me: We’ll, it is well. I don’t know what to say to that
Funmi: Forgive me and let’s start all over
Me: I’ve forgiven you long time ago. Starting all over is not a bad idea, at least I’ll get to know you.
Funmi: Common Will, I’m still the same Funmi your perfect angel
Me: Yes, you are my angel. But I’m not sure I know you anymore

Me: I think there is time to know that for sure
As we were still talking, Temmy came over and we were ready to move.
Funmi: Won’t you guys eat before you leave?
Temmy: We’ll still be stopping by in Ibadan to see how mum is doing. It’s better we leave now.
Sam: I think we’ll talk on phone now
Temmy: Sure. Mary I get your contact from Sam when you get your phone back.
Mary: I’ll send you message on WhatsApp. Uncle Will is still not happy.
Me: I’m happy Mary, how was your night?
Mary: Great, but you don’t look happy
Temmy: I don’t think he had proper sleep.
Mary: Uncle Will, the next time I see you please be happy o. (I smiled back at her)
Funmi: Temmy please don’t forget our. . . .

Funmi: Thanks
She hugged me from the side right inside the car and gave me a peck very close to my mouth. “I’ll call you my love” She whispered into my ear as Temmy drove us off. I remembered Uche asked me to call her that morning but I refused to call her because she might try to delay us from moving that morning.
Temmy: What’s up with you and Funmi now?
Me: Nothing is up Bro. But I’m relieved now
Temmy: Meaning you’ve resolved the issue?
Me: Common Temmy, stop acting like you don’t know the drill. I know you guys spoke and she’ll have told you everything.
Temmy: Yeah, but I need to hear it from you.
Me: Bottom line is we remained separated and I prefer it like that

Me: Sure, I’m only following her tracks. Leave that matter Bro. How far with Rachael?
Temmy: She’ll be in Lagos by Monday
Me: OH oh, we’ll have to come back to Lagos then
Temmy: No, we need to head back to PH. Remember we don’t have permission to travel.
Me: Uncle Ben said we can stay as long as we want. You don’t want to see her?
Temmy: We’ve agreed she’ll come to PH
Me: From Jos?
Temmy: Yeah, she wanted to see how PH look like.

We got to Ibadan and checked on my biological mother. I was so happy she’s recovering very well. She was even trying to cook us food but we declined. I was able to get her beverages and other stuffs even though she claimed she has not touched most of the one I bought earlier. We did not meet her husband at home still and nobody talked about it for the period we were there.
We met Aramide and Vera ready to leave for school as Aramide insisted we take them to school first, even though it will increase our journey duration by two hours. I tried to convince her otherwise but she insisted she has something to discuss with me. Meanwhile, Uche has been calling me since we got to Ibadan but I was ignoring her calls. My plan was to call her back when I get back home.
We succumbed to Aramide’s pressure and took them to school first before we proceed down home. She claimed they have something doing in school even though other faculties were out of session.
Aramide: So how was Lagos?
Me: Lagos was great
Aramide: I know, I mean how was Funmi
Me: She’s doing great
Aramide: You mean you are fine now?
Me: We are both fine on our own
Aramide: Temmy what is he saying.
Temmy: Hmm, in summary they are not back together.
Aramide: What happened? She’s really engaged?
Me: OH you were thinking I made that up
Aramide: I still don’t believe it
Temmy: It was a fling caused by their distance and she’s done with the guy.
Aramide: So she indeed cheated
Me: No she did not, she had already broken up with me then
Aramide: I’m really surprise about this
Temmy: Aramide, it was a fling and she’s sorry
Aramide: Sorry is not just enough and how did you know she is
Temmy: She told me and begged my guy too, but he’s still hurt
Me: I’m not hurt bro
Temmy: Keep living in denial
Aramide: So she really begged you and wanted you back?
Me: Yeah she did but I’m not buying it.
Aramide: Why?
Me: Common Somebody that change in just three weeks will do the unthinkable in eleven months
Aramide: You can’t say that. I’m sure she has learnt her lesson. You really can’t blame her though
Me: No, I’m not blaming her, I’m blaming myself for being so gullible,
Aramide: No, that’s not what I meant. You once told me you are her first love, which means babe has never explore before meeting you.
Me: Now she has more room to explore and I’m wishing her fast and stable network
Aramide: Really Will, why are you like this? You are comparing yourself who has been in this relationship game for a longer period of time with her an obvious novice.
Temmy: That’s true, Will the tiger.
Me: You are saying it as if I was bad
Temmy: No you were not, only experienced

As we were talking, I received a call from Uche again but I ignored it. Aramide snatched the phone from me thinking the call was from Funmi only to find Uche on the call log.
Aramide: So it’s because of Uche you are neglecting Funmi.
Me:Uche ke! She’s just a friend
Aramide: You better let her know that before you break her heart. I have a feeling she’s waiting for you to ask her out.
Me: Common Uche and I have discussed that. See, I’m no more interested in anything relationship again. I want to focus on my carrier first.
Aramide: The way I see it, your carrier is settled. I’m sure your adopted guardian will never allow you to be jobless.
Me: That reminds me. I’ve decided to marry his daughter. I’ll meet her after service year.
Aramide: Whose daughter? Temmy who is he talking about?
Temmy: He has one imaginary fiancee. She’s Daddy Orire’s daughter. They’ve spoke once but never met.
Aramide: And that’s the person you want to marry?
Me: There will be less drama with her.

We dropped them off at school and was able to get home before evening. We met a rather august visitor at home, Daddy Orire. He was so happy to see me as he greeted me like a loving Dad.
Orire: Why didn’t you tell me you were going to Lagos?
Me: We didn’t know we’ll get to Lagos sir and you were not around when I came back.
Orire: Yeah, I was in Lagos that day. If you had told me, I would have link you and my daughter up. It’s time you kids meet each other. Hope you do call each other on phone?
Me: (I don’t even have her number) We’ll talk sir.

Orire: Don’t worry I’ll make sure you kids chat. Hope you like your apartment in PH?
Me: Very well sir

Me:Thank you sir
Orire: Obtain your international passport, I’ll be going on a trip next year, just after your services must have ended. I want you and Lola to go with me. We’ll be touring Europe.
